Dear
Parents,
January 2012
Thank you for the privilege of testing in Hawaii again. We are very
blessed to have Jaimie Manor host us again this year. Thank you so
much! Without her, testing in Hawaii wouldn’t be financially possible.
Registrations will be done through Sarah, not the host family. You can
fill out your registration information online, or you can download the
registration form and send it to Sarah at the above address. For online
registration simply click on the Registration button on the website, and
choose “Register online for 2012 Hawaii Testing” at the bottom of the
page. After your registration and payment have been received, you will
be contacted about confirming a time, date, and place. We want to make
registration available online because we have experienced the
Hawaiian/US Post Office letter loss and don’t want that to happen with
your registrations!
Also, you may make payments through Paypal. As soon as we receive your
online registration, we will send you a Paypal invoice. Once paid, you
will be contacted so that a time, date, and place can be set up for your
child’s testing.
If you would like to register via snail mail and pay with check, send
registration forms and checks payable to Sarah Olbris to the address
above. Once we have received your information, you will be contacted so
that a time, date, and place can be set up for your child’s testing.
We
cannot schedule any tests without a deposit, so we recommend using the
online option and Paypal if at all possible.
Individual tests will take place in Ewa Beach and in Mililani. Group
testing will take place in a location yet to be determined.
A limited number of testing slots are available, so I encourage you to
reserve your testing appointments as soon as possible. A $20.00 late
fee will be added to the total cost of testing if your deposit is not
postmarked before February 15.
IOWA TEST OF BASIC SKILLS GROUP TESTING
We will be offering a 2-day group testing of the Iowa Test of Basic
Skills for grades 3-12. The students must attend both days. The
cost includes the test, proctoring, and scoring fees. Due to
scheduling, if you choose to have Science & Social Studies tested
(not a requirement for testing) there is an additional $10 fee per
student in grades 3-8, but no additional fee for high school
students. A self addressed stamped (forever postage) #10 business
envelope needs to be brought with you the day of testing. No other
costs, fees, or responsibilities are yours except to make sure that
the child gets to the testing site on time with paper and pencils in
hand. No calculators
will be allowed during these tests.
If
you change your appointment after you have received confirmation, there
will be a rescheduling fee of $15 per person. The $25 non-refundable
deposit must be received to schedule a test, and there is a $15 fee for
rescheduling the appointment.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call Sarah at
757-456-9659 (home) or
757-478-6886 (cell). (Remember that I live in Virginia so please do not
call after 5 pm your time.) If we do not answer, please leave a
message on the answering machine and we will return your call as soon as
possible. We may be speaking with someone else about testing, and we
want to give you the same undivided attention that we are giving them.
I
am looking forward to working with you and your children this year. And
thanks, Jaimie, for hosting us this year and for all your help! By the
way, we will be in need of a new host family for 2013. The Manors will
be moving compliments of the military. We depend on host families for
our proctors in order to keep the costs of testing to a minimum. If you
are interested, please let me know.
Sincerely,
Sarah
R. Olbris
P.S.
Just a reminder – Parents, you are responsible
to send in your children’s test scores to the appropriate school
system. I will not send test scores to anyone but you.
